Global Change, Society & Sustainability Research Programme (GCSSRP)

The Global Change, Society and Sustainability Research Programme (GCSSRP) is a long term large scale structured and coordinated research programme implemented to address the identified fundamental research questions and provide research-based evidence that is required for socio-economic development, sustainability and social cohesion. The research programme provides a unique opportunity to bring together a variety of players in the area of social-ecological research, enhance their capacity and capability to respond to climate and environmental change and in effect encourage and enhance interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. The Global Change, Society and Sustainability Research Programme is aimed at supporting research and human capital development primarily in the following two Knowledge Challenges of the 2GCResearch Plan (see above)only: • Adapting the way we live and • Innovation for sustainability
